Composed of animated screengrabs of private security webcams found by means of a simple search engines hack, Location Insecure depicts the asynchronous time and space of the Internet, where space and image compression meet real time flow of information, time zones are crossed with a mouse click, and the boundaries between private and public disappear as private locations joined global public networks.
Location Insecure is part a series of videos and video installations Bookchin produced between 2005 and 2007 that uses sampled images from found hacked online security webcams to depict anonymous global landscapes.
