The first event took place in LA on November 10, 2000 as part of LA Freewaves Festival, and was hosted by Natalie Bookchin and Ming-Yuen S. Ma. Invited guests included Mervin Jarman (Jamaica), creator of the Container Project and member of the UK collective Mongrel, Cornelia Solfrank (Germany) from Old Boys Network, Ricardo Dominguez (USA) from Electronic Disturbance Theater and representatives of the Bordergames collaboration, including La Fiambrera (Spain)and Bitfiddlers.org (USA).The groups presented their work and participated in an open discussion of tactics.

Following the live presentations there was a screening of two videos, "Octember Revolution" by Kevin Moore (LA), documenting a Southern California gated community intervention and "Sheik Attack" by Eddo Stern (LA), "a non/fiction horror video woven from pop nostalgia, computer war games, the sweat of virtual commandos, the blood of Sheiks and a mis-remembrance of a long lost Zionist Utopia".
